All ESA space missions have two indispensable ingredients in common: high-level engineering know how and solid project management.

We are looking for a Head of the Projects Department for the Science Directorate, whose overriding responsibility will be managing a talented group of 85 specialised engineers and project managers involved in the implementation and in-orbit commissioning of ESA scientific space missions. Projects under development include James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), Solar Orbiter, JUICE, EUCLID, Bepi Colombo and PLATO.

The ideal candidate is an experienced manager with space industry experience related to the development of space projects within cost and schedule and who has faced the challenges that arise from both spacecraft and payload development.
