STM-285 European Guidelines for Thermo-Elastic Verification

The requirements for thermo-elastic stability and strength of spacecraft payloads and structures are increasingly demanding. Thermally induced deformations and stresses can be critical to payload and mission performance. Therefore, verification of spacecraft and payload design for thermo-elastic stability necessarily requires that verification methodologies are precise, reliable and consistent. This document contains the first issue of the European Guidelines for Thermo-Elastic Verification and aims to provide a framework for the verification approach. These guidelines have been reviewed by the European industrial and scientific space community represented by the European Working Group on Thermo-Elastics. Read online
