The Second ATV Mission, Johannes Kepler
A set of panels giving an overview of ESA's second ATV mission.
The ATV, Automated Transfer Vehicle, is a series of unmanned space transport vehicles that ferry supplies and experiments to the ISS.
Johannes Kepler is the first operational ATV, following the highly successful Jules Verne qualification flight in 2008. With a total mass of over 20 tonnes, it is the heaviest payload ever launched by Europe. This is largely due to a performance increase of Ariane 5, with its new boosters.
