This wide-swath radar multi composite image centred over Bretagne, the long arm of France that extends into the Atlantic Ocean and Lower Normandy. The peninsula of Bretagne is bordered by the English Channel on the north and the Bay of Biscay on the south. The major cities of Bretagne: Rennes (centre), Angers and Nantes situated on the Loire River (bottom image) are visible as large bright areas. To the left of Lower Normandy are the British islands of Jersey and Guernsey.
The image is made of three ASAR images acquired on different dates and assigning a colour (RGB) to each date (Red: 5 October 2003, Green: 30 December 2003, Blue: 22 February 2004).
