Surface Avatar is the experiment where ESA and DLR worked together to make a team of robots for future space exploration. The idea is to let an astronaut operate the robot team from afar, e.g. from inside a lunar lander, while the robots perform mundane tasks on the lunar surface.
One of the critical aspects is to get the robots to work together. This picture shows DLR's Rollin' Justin on the right and ESA Interact Rover on the left, working together to put a peg in a hole.
