The ESA Education Office orchestrated an event that brought together radio amateurs worldwide through the LEDSAT digipeater. This challenge enabled communication among enthusiasts, highlighting the prowess of amateur radio in connecting individuals across borders.
Utilising the LEDSAT's digipeater, radio amateurs were given a unique platform to exchange messages. The digipeater acted as a relay, extending the reach of transmissions beyond traditional limits. Amateurs from diverse regions embraced the challenge, sending messages via the LEDSAT digipeater. The educational ESTEC ground station in the Netherlands captured messages from around the world, showcasing the event's global reach.

The educational ground station in ESTEC carefully recorded the flow of messages originating from different places, forming a dynamic mosaic of worldwide communication. However, it's worth noting that the ground station encountered several technical challenges. These issues initially hindered the transmission process, and later, there were problems with receiving messages as well. Consequently, during the closing stages of the competition, the ability to receive messages was unfortunately disrupted. Nevertheless, in recognition of their efforts, a special QSL card will be gifted to each user that established successful communication with the ESTEC educational ground station - a tangible acknowledgment of their accomplishment in the challenge.

The LEDSAT Digipeater Challenge demonstrated the potential of technology and shared interests to bridge gaps between individuals. As QSL cards are sent, they carry not only messages but also the unity forged among radio amateurs worldwide.
