ESA Academy is pleased to launch a new set of opportunities for university students: Engagement. Thanks to this initiative, students will have the chance to enrich their careers with exclusive access to joint events, scholarships, conference sponsorships and more!

ESA Academy is ESA's overarching educational programme for tertiary education students from ESA Member States, Canada, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia and Slovenia, part of ESA’s Education Office. Its objective is to enhance the students’ educational experience and gain both practical and theoretical know-how and expertise in various disciplines. So far, this has been done thanks to two successful initiatives, the Projects – giving students hands-on experience on real space projects, and the Trainings – focused on providing the theoretical knowledge.

To conclude 2023 at its best, we launched the Engagement opportunities, which offer structured collaboration models both within ESA and externally with academia, space industry and institutions, to contribute together to the preparation of the future talents in terms of knowledge, skills, and competences, through joined opportunities for tertiary education students.

Currently the following opportunities are available:

  • The Conference Student Sponsorship programme facilitating the access to European conferences offering a space-related thematic by contributing to students registration fee, travel and accommodation costs.
  • The Short Course Scholarship programme facilitating access to space-related short duration learning opportunities by contributing to students registration fee, travel, and accommodation costs.

In the coming months additional new opportunities will be available including:

  • The Academic Scholarship programme facilitating access to space-related European academic programmes of higher education institutions by covering the tuition fees.
