The purpose of the conference is to provide scientists and data users with the opportunity to present first-hand and up-to-date results from their ongoing research and application development activities by using data from past and current atmospheric instruments. The outcome of this conference is used to further shape the next generation of research & development activities in the frame of the ESA Earth Observation Programme.

IGARSS is aimed at providing a platform for sharing knowledge and experience on recent developments and advancements in geoscience and remote sensing technologies, particularly in the context of Earth observation, disaster monitoring and risk assessment.

The workshop is an opportunity to  delve into cutting-edge topics and exchange insights on terrestrial vegetation structure models, measurements and instrumentation. 

The general objectives of the workshop are to present and discuss recent scientific progress in understanding and modeling dynamical processes and socio-economic impacts of Mediterranean cyclones, as well as advancement in their monitoring and forecasting, from weather to climate time-scales.
