ISS Education Programme – overview
The International Space Station (ISS) Education Programme is making use of human spaceflight, and ISS, as a means to capture the attention and interest of the students.
We aim to help increase the number of students in Europe studying scientific and technical disciplines, and enhance appreciation and understanding of the benefits, challenges, and importance of space for Europe.
Since children make the first important choices regarding their future professional development between 10-15 years of age, we are concentrating on activities for students of lower-secondary schools (12-15 years old), and their teachers, although we also have products and programmes for primary school pupils.
As girls are not well represented in science and technology generally, we are also developing ways of trying to capture their interest early on.
