Inside the Software Development and Integration Laboratory facility

The Software Development and Integration Laboratory (SDIL) facility, where NASA replicates the complete International Space Station onboard avionics, is located at the Sonny Carter Training Facility, the site of the world's largest indoor pool, which contains a fully immerged mockup of the ISS so that astronauts can train for spacewalks. The SDIL facilities are a few miles from NASA's Johnson Space Centre in Houston.
