Progression of Halloween Crack on Antarctica’s Brunt ice shelf created from Sentinel-2 images from November 2016 to February 2017, plotted on a Sentinel-2 image from 5 February 2017. The animation also shows the old and new locations of the Halley VI base. Information from Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 was used to decide to close the base temporarily as a precaution.
