The first Ariane launch: reminiscences of Walter Naumann

Walter Naumann was involved in the Ariane programmes from 1973 until his retirement in 1999. In 1979, he was Head of the Ariane Development Section in ESA’s Ariane Department. Here he recounts some of his experiences leading up to that historic first flight.
