The Astronaut Diaries: Journals of Andi Futura Aged 11 ½ invites readers to join Andi and her family, including their lovable dog, as they deal with the challenges of being the first family to live on a space station. Written by Emma Roberts, the story was inspired by the real-life experiences of ESA astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti, who worked closely with the author.

Mission to Mars was written by planetary physicist and space writer Dr Sheila Kanani. It’s a choose-your-own-adventure story that puts you in charge of a daring mission to the Red Planet. With stunning illustrations by award-winning duo Adamastor and real page-turning excitement, this book delivers classic space adventure alongside scientifically accurate space facts.

These great new titles are sure to captivate young readers with their relatable characters and gripping stories. They are also packed with educational STEM content from the real space experts at ESA, so children get to learn about space exploration in a fun way, too. Both The Astronaut Diaries and Mission to Mars are perfect for ages 7 to 12, but can be enjoyed by space fans of all ages.

Nadia Lüders, responsible for brand partnerships at ESA, said, “We are delighted to work with DK for this project. We are always happy to collaborate with partners, such as DK, who share our goals. In this case, it is our ongoing mission to inspire young people to explore space and space science.”
