New application deadline: due to Lithuania's new status as an ESA Associated Member, the application period has been extended by three weeks. Applications for ESA's Astronaut and Astronaut (with a physical disability) vacancies now close 18 June 2021.

Did you apply or are you about to apply to become an ESA Astronaut? Are you interested in learning more about the selection process and astronaut training, and gaining insights into other ESA activities? Join our dedicated virtual careers fair on Thursday 22 April, from 13:30 to 17:00 (CEST).

The event

If you are considering an application, this is a great opportunity to learn more about the ESA astronaut selection and find out what it is like to be an astronaut at ESA, thanks to the participation of members of our astronaut corps: André Kuipers and Thomas Reiter will share their experiences of living and working on the ISS and the event will close with a roundtable discussion with Samantha Cristoforetti, Claudie Haigneré and André Kuipers.

But that is not all. You can join one or more of the short presentations about ESA activities related to human spaceflight and other areas, such as the search for exoplanets, ESA’s mission to Mars to collect samples and bring them back to Earth, 3D printing, spacecraft operations and what is being done with the data collected by the satellites observing Earth. Four ESA staff who applied for the 2008-09 selection will also talk about their careers at ESA.

You are welcome to take part if you are thinking of applying to become an ESA astronaut and you meet the basic requirements.
