Post docs at the ACT – ESA’s research think-tank

As part of ESA's Directorate of Technical and Quality Management (TEC-SF), the team fulfils the function of a research think-tank providing decision makers with the expertise of a highly multidisciplinary research group. Science and engineering post docs carry out research on advanced subjects and emerging technologies slightly outside the programmatic horizon of ESA programmes and perform analysis on a wide range of topics of relevance to the future of space activities.

“ACT research fellows develop their activity on advanced research topics, requiring both space systems engineering competence and specific theoretical knowledge. In order to enhance cross-fertilisation between different study areas, interdisciplinary research work is an essential part of the ACT philosophy”, says Leopold Summerer, head of the ACT.
