ECSL supports IISL in Manfred Lachs World Rounds organisation

In the context of the covid-10 outbreak the ECSL is glad to have provided its support to the International Institute of Space Law (IISL) for the organisation of the 2020 Manfred Lachs Space law Moot court Competition World Rounds, held virtually. Universities from all over the globe, competed to argue on the case opposing Valenkova v SaRidia. The ECSL wishes to congratulate everyone on their great performance and participation despite the unusual and challenging circumstances.

Virtual Oral Demonstration Round with LA v. UAE - 16 September 2020
Amity University (Dubai) and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (Chile) presented their arguments the Bench, judged by Prof. Steven Freeland, Elina Morozova and PJ Blount. 
As a result of several years of commitment in the Manfred Lachs competition, Latin America will officially be participating as a Region in the 2021 Competition.

Virtual World Semi-Final II - 30 September 2020
Asia-Pacific (Applicant) vs North America (Respondent)
Judges: Joanne Gabrynowicz, Tanja Masson, Phetole Sekhula

Virtual World Finals - 23 October 2020 at 3 pm (CEST)
The World Finals were judged by three  Judges of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), namely H.E. Judge Peter Tomka (President), H.E. Judge Joan Donoghue and H.E. Judge Kirill Gevorgian. 
The session opposed the National Law University, Delhi (Asia-Pacific) as Applicant and the University of Vienna (Europe) as the Respondent.

After brilliantly arguing complex and difficult questions of international law and space law, the honourable Court ruled in favour of the National Law University of Delhi (Applicant), to be the 2020 MLMC World Champions !
