The first TEDxESA conference will take place on 11 November at ESA’s technical heart in the Netherlands. With the theme ‘Science Beyond Fiction’, the event will take you on a stellar journey through space technology, innovation and science.

Moderated by ESA astronaut André Kuipers, the conference will look at the importance of creativity and imagination to help push boundaries.

A diverse selection of speakers – scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, astronauts, managers and artists – will look at space, planet Earth and the challenges and opportunities we’re facing in a very unusual way.

Keep an eye on the TEDxESA blog for further announcements.

It will be a great event for space enthusiasts as well as curious minds with a general interest in new, exciting technologies. It will be the perfect place to learn about fascinating ideas and challenges while meeting with like-minded people.

Seats are limited, so apply now for this unique event. Please note that signing up does not guarantee a ticket. Names will be selected according to seat availability. Tickets are €55 and €30 (reduced).

But of course nobody will have to miss TEDxESA – the conference will be livestreamed. In addition, all talks will be made available subsequently on demand via TED and TEDxESA’s YouTube channels.

For this event ESA is collaborating with TED, a global set of avant-garde conferences for thinkers and leaders in Technology, Entertainment and Design under the slogan ‘ideas worth spreading’, reaching out to millions through conferences and free online talks.

After the TEDxRheinMain Rocketminds event hosted by ESA’s space operations centre in Germany in May 2014, the time was ripe for this latest event.
