UK Minister for Universities and Science visits ESTEC

Accompanied by Dr David Parker, Chief Executive of the UK Space Agency, Mr Willetts enjoyed a tour of ESTEC with ESA's Director General Jean-Jacques Dordain, Director of Telecommunications and Integrated Applications Magali Vaissière and the Head of ESTEC, Director of Technical and Quality Management Franco Ongaro.

Mr Willets and Mr Dordain addressed an audience of ESTEC staff and contractors, explaining the UK space policy and stressing the importance of the UK's support and contributions to ESA teams. Both highlighted the significance of the growth of the ESA site at Harwell. Afterwards, representatives of the Directorate of Telecommunications and Integrated Applications had the opportunity to take part in a Q&A session with the UK guests.
