Ecsite 2024: join us for the Space Group pre-conference workshop!
The Ecsite Conference is set to return for its 2024 edition, taking place from 5 to 8 June in Ljubljana (Slovenia). As with previous editions, ESA and the Ecsite Space Group have organised a pre-conference workshop, this time focusing on the theme 'Space Exploration and Communication'. Join us in Ljubljana for a day of learning, networking, and innovation!
Whether you are an educator, curator, or science communicator, mark your calendar for the 5 June 2024 and join the Ecsite pre-conference workshop 'Space Exploration and Communication: a collaborative workshop on the future'. Organised by the European Space Agency and the Ecsite Space Group within the framework of the Ecsite conference, this event offers an excellent opportunity for attendees to explore the future of space exploration and to anticipate the challenges and opportunities awaiting science centres, museums, and communicators.
The workshop will be led by a speaker session composed by Sandra Benitez Herrera, Education Scientist and ESAC Communication Officer and Kai Noeske, Outreach Corporate Content Officer at the European Space Agency. Attendees will gain insights into ESA's robotic and human exploration initiatives, upcoming exhibitions, and digital and merchandising resources at their disposal. Furthermore, experts from different institutions will be sharing their knowledge and experiences in the field of space science communication and the latest news in space exploration.
This year’s workshop will feature a new interactive format led by Audrey Korczyńska, Project Manager at Territoire des Sciences and the newly opened space science centre, Cosmocité. Audrey will facilitate the exchange of ideas among colleagues, sharing methods and best practices to respond to the challenge of engaging different audiences in space science, and for effective communication in museums and science centres. This collaborative exercise will end with feedback sessions from both experts and peers, offering participants invaluable insights and recommendations.
Practical information
The Ecsite Space Group pre-conference workshop will take place on 5 June 2024, ahead of the Ecsite Conference that takes place from 5 to 8 June. Both events will be hosted by the Kersnikova Institute at the GR - Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
