The picture shows a working session on Cogni (Cognitive Process for 3-D Orientation Perception and Navigation in Weightlessness) by the Russian astronaut Konstantin Kozeiv.
The Cogni experiment uses the unique conditions of orbital flight to better understand how the brain deals with gravity in the process of perceiving and representing three-dimensional space.
The Androméde mission (21-31 October 2001) sees ESA astronaut Claudie Haignere as the first European woman on board on the International Space Station (ISS). The research programme for the French-Russian Andromède mission, was defined and coordinated by the French space agency CNES.
