The car industry is today a key customer of the textile business using 20% of all technical textiles produced. They are used for seats, door covers, roofs, bodywork, seatbelts, airbags, carpets, tyre casing cords, glove boxes, heat shields, radiator hoses, etc. The average car today holds more than 30 kg of technical textiles.
