French Minister of Research and New Technologies, Claudie Haigneré

The French Minister of Research and New Technologies, Claudie Haigneré, who as an ex-ESA astronaut knows the potential of space technology, showed a particular interest at this years Le Bourget air show for the new UV-protection suit developed under ESA Technology Transfer Programme. The new suit may improve life quality for circa 300 patients in Europe diagnosed with the genetic disorder xeroderma pigmentosum (XP). Here Claudie Haigneré is seen with eight-year-old Alex Webb, one of the first to try the new suit.
