Go to topicThe Kourou station is located on the campus of the Centre Spatiale Guyanais (CSG) in French Guiana, the European Space Port. It hosts a 15-metre diameter antenna with transmission and reception in both S- and X-band. In addition it hosts a remote ranging terminal for EUMETSAT Meteosat operations and an antenna for the Global Positioning System – Tracking and Data Facility (GPS-TDAF).
The site is locally also known as the Diane or Kourou 93 station. It is located about 27 kilometres from the town of Kourou, and 90 kilometres from Cayenne, the capital of French Guiana, in the north-east of South America.
