The ALADIN lidar seen from the telescope side

The ALADIN lidar seen from the telescope side. The telescope has a diameter of 1.5 metres and is manufactured from Silicon-Carbide ceramics. The tripod holding the secondary mirror is clearly visible. The telescope is of a very high optical quality and fine-controlled by heaters in the primary mirror and secondary mounting struts.
