The new Large Diameter Centrifuge at ESA-ESTEC

Installation and commissioning of the new Large Diameter Centrifuge (LDC) at ESA's European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) at Noordwijk, in The Netherlands, has been completed.

The LDC is part of the Life and Physical Sciences Instrumentation Laboratory at ESTEC, dedicated to serving the science and technology user communities throughout Europe.

The LDC has four arms and a diameter of eight metres. It can attain a maximum acceleration of 20 g at the outer ends of the arms.
