Planck spacecraft undergoing testing at the Thales facility in Toulouse. The Planck telescope, visible in this image, has an off-axis aplanatic design with two elliptical reflectors and a diameter of 1.5 metres. This design configuration gives a good performance over the large focal surface required by the instruments.
