Robotic part-positioner

A manually controlled robotic part-positioner mounts an item on a car on a conveyor belt at a factory in Portugal. The system controlling speed and positioning to fit the dashboard into the car draws on space technology developed for the automatic docking of ESA’s Automated Transfer Vehicle to the International Space Station. It was developed by Portuguese MDUSpace, a start-up company from ESA Business Incubation Centre Noordwijk in the Netherlands.
