Although more processing is needed, this shows the first images of brightness temperature (H-polarisation) acquired by the airborne Polarimetric L-band Multibeam Radiometer (PLMR). Each rectangle patch represents different days in the campaign and therefore shows a temporal sequence. From left to right, the first patches show relatively dry soil compared to the eighth patch, where 100–150 mm of rain had fallen just before the measurements were taken. Also, the forest in the Kosciuszko National Park (in southern part of the ninth patch) has a significant influence on the brightness temperature.
