This composite mosaic image of the solar corona was made out of hundreds of individual Proba-2 SWAP images gathered in off-pointing mode shortly in advance of the 11 July 2010 solar eclipse. The result is an image with an extended field of view: a plasma structure extending up to one solar radius above the solar limb can be distinguised in the north-east direction (top left). Blocking out the solar disc gives an approximation of what people on the ground at Easter Island should have seen.
