Measuring heart beats on the run

The CSEM PulsEar is a heart-rate measurement system. Heart activity is measured in the ear by a commercial earphone and the heart rate is displayed in real time on an iPhone. The technology is a spin-off from ESA's Long Term Medical Survey, researching human behaviour during future long space missions.
