Manuel Martin-Neira from ESA (left), Jordi Font from the Spanish Institute of Marine Sciences (centre) and Yann Kerr from the French Center for the Study of the Biosphere from Space (right) were presented with the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society Certificate of Recognition by Jon Benediktson, President of GRSS. The certificate celebrates the team's leadership in the development of the first synthetic aperture microwave radiometer in space and the success of ESA's Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity mission. The award was presented at the Museum of Anthropology of Vancouver, Canada, on 28 July at this year's IGARSS conference.
