UARS reentered in 2011

NASA's Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite (UARS)  reentered in September 2011. Due to the uncontrolled nature of this reentry some slight risk to the public was acknowledged, but in the event the remaning fragments of the 5.9 tonne UARS fell harmlessly into the Pacific.
