ESA and Intelsat sign Indigo public–private partnership
The Indigo contract was signed on 16 June 2015 at the Paris air and space show by Magali Vaissiere, ESA’s Director of Telecommunications and Integrated Applications, and Stephen Spengler, CEO at Intelsat, in the presence of Serge Van Herck, Newtec's CEO.
At the same event, Stephen Spengler, CEO at Intelsat signed a contract with Serge Van Herck, CEO at Newtec. Newtec is Intelsat’s industrial partner in the Indigo project.
New technologies to help fully exploit the capabilities of the next generation of high-throughput telecom satellites will be developed under a public–private partnership between ESA and global satellite operator Intelsat.
The Indigo project will develop new ground segment innovations that maximise the new capabilities offered by the latest Intelsat EpicNG satellites.
