The Climate Change Initiative (CCI) land cover progress meeting took place in Mexico at the beginning of August. The Director General of the Mexican Space Agency, Francisco Javier Mendieta Jimenez, attended the progress meeting together with around 30 participants of Mexican institutions. Professor Chapela, Director of CentroGEO is pictured here with representatives of seven different Mexican institutions.
ESA’s CCI provides the science community and governing bodies with vital Earth observation datasets to understand and help mitigate climate change. These robust, long-term, global satellite datasets are also required by the Global Climate Observing System (GCO).
The datasets used to develop new Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) green growth headline indicator provide information on change between land cover types.
