AgriRover: From ExoMars to Earth

The ExoMars Rover is a planetary science mission to characterise the biological environment on Mars. The rover will navigate the Martian terrain, perform subsurface drilling, and automatically sample and analyse the Martian rock. Now, these same capabilities are being used on Earth to help farmers to reduce the environmental impact of chemical fertilisers.

The AgriRover device, inspired by the ExoMars Rover, is designed to automatically sample and analyse the soil quality, providing information to help farmers reduce their use of chemical fertilisers by better understanding when and where they are needed.
