The Amazonas Nexus telecommunications satellite was sold in January 2020 by manufacturer Thales Alenia Space to satellite operator Hispasat.
It was created as part of the Spacebus Neo product line developed under an ESA Partnership Project.
The programme aims to support European industry to deliver competitive satellites for the commercial satellite market.
