Galileo Payload Testbed arriving at ESTEC

Thales Alenia Space's Galileo Second Generation Payload Testbed arriving at ESTEC in July 2021 inside its protective container for proof-of-concept testing. The Testbed is a functional replica of Thales's design for the satellites' navigation payload. Galileo Second Generation will be made up of two independent families of satellites meeting the same performance requirements, produced by Thales Alenia Space in Italy and Airbus Defence and Space in Germany. While the Thales testbed is being evaluated at ESTEC, Airbus Defence and Space's testbed is being tested at its facility in Ottobrunn, Germany.
