Webb flies Ariane 5
The James Webb Space Telescope will reach space on an Ariane 5 launching from Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana. It will unfold in space on its journey to the second Lagrange point. Working with partners, ESA was responsible for the development and qualification of Ariane 5 adaptations for the Webb mission and for the procurement of the launch service.
