Member of ESA’s astronaut reserves John McFall travelled to Belfast this week to participate in the UK Space Conference, where he bumped into Europe's first lunar ‘lamb-bassador’, Shaun the Sheep.
In November 2022, John was selected to take part in ESA’s feasibility study “Fly!” to improve understanding of, and overcome, the barriers space flight presents for astronauts with a physical disability.
After meeting Shaun, John said: “Great to hang out with this little dude today… conversation was a little one-way but the company wasn’t baaaaahhd! This is the actual Shaun the Sheep that flew on Artemis I… hopefully I’ll follow in his hoof-prints one day!"
