A major new centre dedicated to developing new space technologies and applications has been unveiled by the European Space Agency, ESA.
The European Centre for Space Applications and Telecoms, ECSAT, is being built in the UK, at Harwell near the city of Oxford.
It is the first major ESA centre to be built in Britain – recognising the country’s new position as the third largest funder of the Agency – and will be located alongside many other space technology facilities with thousands of skilled staff.
