The second Data Release of GAIA is presented by ESA this 25 April at ILA's Space Pavillion, Berlin.
This new release contains an unprecedented number of 1.2 Billions stars, for an extraordinary catalogue based on observations between July 2014 to May 2016.
It includes the most accurate information yet on the positions, brightness, distance, motion, colour and temperature of stars in the Milky Way as well as information on asteroids and quasars.
This A & B roll shows new images from this catalogue with an interview with Timo Prusti, GAIA Project scientist, ESA.
