This 25 July at 08h25 local time, 11h25 GMT, Ariane 5 will launch four more Galileo satellites from Europe’ Spaceport in Kourou, French Guyane.
It will be the 3rd time an Ariane 5 is used to launch Galileo satellites but more important with these 4 new satellites the Galileo constellation will be composed of 26 satellites on orbit which is sufficient for the European Satellite Navigation system to be fully operational.
So this launch will mark quite an achievement: in 4 years only, no less than 22 satellites have been launched from Kourou with 5 Soyuz (2 satellites per launch) and 3 Ariane 5 (4 satellites each).
This feed will show images of the launch campaign at the Centre Spatial Guyanais and in particular the roll out to the Launchpad of Ariane 5 with the 4 Galileo satellites under its fairing. It will also include interviews of Galileo management:
Paul Verhoef, Director Navigation Programmes, ESA - English/French/German/Dutch
Javier Benedicto, Galileo Programme Manager, ESA - English/Spanish/French
Giuliano Gatti, Galileo Space Segment, ESA - English/Italian
