Separation test of a Vega fairing

RUAG Space in Switzerland manufactures fairings for Europe’s Ariane and Vega launchers and in September 2019  a new hinge and actuation system was tested that could reduce the shock of separating the fairing from the launch vehicle when it reaches space.
