CDF wins European Technical Communications Award
The ESA CDF has been awarded the prestigious bi-annual award for outstanding services to technical communication by TCeurope as part of a Colloquium held in Brussels on the 19th April 2013.
TCeurope is an umbrella organisation representing professionals from all areas of technical communication in ten European countries, including writers, illustrators, editors, trainers, web content designers, teachers and translators. The main areas of activity of TCeurope is the development of technical communication standards and guidelines, the advance of technical education and training programmes in Europe and the promotion of technical communications at an international level.
The TCeurope Honours award is given every two years to recognise and honour the work done by European professionals and organisations in the field of technical communication.
The ESA CDF was recognised for its achievements in using Concurrent Engineering (CE) techniques and practices to create an environment where engineers and scientists from ESA participating member states can work together in the conceptual design of potential future space missions. The Award Committee recognised that ESA CDF is placing technical communication at the core of its documentation process to significantly improve working practices by allowing input from multiple experts, reducing production time, and for providing high quality, consistent technical information for the benefit of all the stakeholders.
