Meteosat images

The following Meteosat images are from 16 March 2000. The images are infrared images, which means that the temperature is shown on a scale ranging from white (low temperatures) to black (high temperatures).

Describe three images taken at different times of the day.

Describe the cloud formation around the Alps.

Compare the temperatures in Italy and the Mediterranean in the three images. Why do the relative temperatures change in the two areas over the course of the day?
