Join ESA at London’s New Scientist Live
This year marks the first time that ESA will be joining the New Scientist Live event in London, from 22 to 25 September at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre.
It is a festival with a rich programme of displays and talks, covering all aspects of science. ESA’s first British astronaut, Tim Peake, will be giving a talk about his time on the International Space Station on the opening day.
ESA has joined forces with the UK Space Agency, leading satellite operator Inmarsat and Europe’s largest space company, Airbus Defence and Space, to present a snapshot of space activities. Experts will be ready to answer your questions at stand 111. Research medical doctor Beth Healey, who spent over a year at the Concordia station in Antarctica, will talk on the Cosmos stage on Friday 23 September.
The show will feature four immersive zones covering Brain & Body, Technology, Earth and Cosmos. ESA’s stand is in the Cosmos area. Come and learn all about ESA’s telecom behemoth, Alphasat, comet chaser Rosetta – and its lander Philae – the Space Station and Airbus Defence and Space’s Mars rover Bridget. Each project is a crucial element of not only the space sector in general, but also of how the UK contributes with world-class technology and cutting-edge research and development.
ESA representatives will also be at the stand during the entire four-day exhibition to speak to visitors.
