Luca Parmitano visiting the Science Museum in London
ESA Astronaut Luca Parmitano will be visiting the Science Museum in London for a special Q&A with school children on Monday 2 June.
In February 2011, Luca was assigned as a flight engineer to a long-duration mission to the International Space Station. He was launched on a Soyuz launcher from Baikonur, Kazakhstan on 28 May 2013.
Luca spent 166 days in space conducting over 20 experiments and took part in two spacewalks and the docking of four spacecraft for his Volare mission. He landed safely back on Earth on 11 November 2013 and now he’s visiting the Science Museum in London!
British school children between the ages 9 and 11 will have an unique opportunity to meet an ESA astronaut and learn about living and working far above the Earth.
Before meeting the children, Luca will also meet the staff of the Science Museum and will be given a guided tour of the “Exploring Space” gallery with the Space Curator Mr Doug Millard.
