Overview of standardisation activities  The standardisation activities are performed in the frame of two organisational units, the Board for Software Standardisation and Control (BSSC) and European Cooperation for Space Standardisation (ECSS). The BSSC is the ESA internal software standardisation board, working under the ESA Engineering Standardisation Board (ESB). It leads the ESA internal standards, but also represents ESA in ECSS. The ECSS software standards are developed under guidance of the ECSS Engineering Panel for the E-40 series and the ECSS Quality panel for the Q-80 series.
Some ECSS handbooks are also made available.
