Waveforms for LISA
Anna Heffernan
ESA's Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA)
In January 2024, ESA's Science Programme Committee approved the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA) mission. Led by ESA, LISA will be the first space-based gravitational wave detector and is made possible by a collaboration between ESA, its member states, NASA and the LISA consortium, a global collaboration of scientists. A key component of gravitational wave astronomy is the necessity of extremely accurate waveforms. In this talk I will give an overview of the current status of waveform techniques, strengths, weaknesses and future challenges as outlined in the recent Waveforms Modelling for LISA white paper.
