Alexander Hadjiivanov

I am a research fellow in AI, a number theory enthusiast, a cheese connoisseur and a level 13 druid.

In my day role as an AI researcher, I draw inspiration from neuroscience to conjure models of phenomena such as homeostatic equilibrium, axon guidance and structural plasticity, adaptive online learning, associative memory and retinotopic vision. One of my goals is to develop a coherent framework that enables neural networks to learn, form memories and adapt to their environment on the fly, using raw real-world data. I am very excited by the potential of spiking neural networks and the hardware implementation thereof (neuromorphic processors) to power a wide range of energy-efficient autonomous AI systems that (1) deserve the 'I' and (2) are sufficiently robust and useful to be deployed as part of official space missions.

Another major goal of mine is to create the perfect sourdough baguette, but I've mostly got that sorted.

The dynamics, dedication and sheer brainpower of the ACT are all second to none, and I feel extremely privileged to be part of this team.
